Banff Town and Cultural Tour

Banff Town and Cultural Tour

Total Tour Time: approximately 6 hours

This tour will focus on learning about the history and culture that shapes the town of Banff.

You will begin your tour at The Cave and Basin National Historic site. Stand in the natural, sulphurous hot-spring cave that, in 1885, gave birth to Canada National Parks System. The visitor’s centre here is brand new in 2013 and outlines the birth and growth of Canada’s national parks through interactive displays and exhibits.

With your local guide you will continue on to the Whyte Museum, which inspires discovery and wonder when people and the Rocky Mountains meet. From there, guests will continue to view the beautiful artifacts in the Banff Park Museum and onto one of the historic homes in Banff. Lunch will be enjoyed at the Juniper Bistro whose wall-to-wall glass on the “sunny side of the valley” looks out over one of the most renowned vistas in North America. Known as the wildlife corridor behind the beautiful Juniper Hotel, you’ll likely spy some Elk or coyotes as they tend to gravitate to this area and enjoy the warmth.

Guests will finish the tour on Banff Avenue where there will be time to pop into local shops and chat more with the locals.
