Lake Lure Inn & Boat Tour on Lake Lure

Thursday, Sept 21 (also Saturday Sept 23)

Heading Southeast from Asheville this drive makes its way down the mountains to Lake Lure in the Blue Ridge foothills. The 48 mile drive to Lake Lure will take about two hours including the rest stop. The roads will be mostly two lanes country roads winding their way down to the Hickory Nut Gorge. The moment you arrive in Lake Lure, it is obvious you are surrounded by beauty, unsurpassed anywhere else in North Carolina. The boat tour will let you view Western North Carolina from a perspective that very few get to experience. The mountain views from the lake are a sight to behold.

Lunch has been arranged at the famous Lake Lure Inn. With nearly 90 years of history, this charming hotel is surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains and is just steps from Lake Lure. Afterwards you have the option to independently visit Chimney Rock State Park which offers some of North Carolina’s most dramatic mountain scenery with the signature 315-foot spire overlooking Hickory Nut Gorge and Lake Lure.
